๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Dear Heavenly Father โ€“ We return again today to learn how the early church began.  Let us remember that we are part of Your Church and let us be thankful for the men and women who blazed the path courageously so that we could hear the glorious salvation message of the Gospel today.  We thank You for all that You do in our lives and we are thankful for those who went before us. Amen.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Dear Heavenly Father โ€“ we humble ourselves as we listen to Your Word.  Let us see Your truth about Your early church. Teach us what it means to a part of Your body, The Church, so that we may always honor You, bring You glory, and allow You to work through us to bring others along to Your Kingdom. We ask this is the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Dear Heavenly Father โ€“ This little lost sheep can never thank You enough for the overwhelming and faithful love that You are. Youโ€™ve demonstrated this by Your provision of a faithful Shepherd who saves His lost sheep… even me!!! (The largest alabaster jar of the most expensive treasure I own, would not be enough to contain my love and my gratitude to You, for the life Youโ€™ve restored.)ย  I draw near again in humble submission to hear what You are ready to speak to my heart today. Strengthen and encourage me; share with me more of Your wisdom, so that I may go where You lead me and honor Your name always. I pray this in the name of my most beautiful Savior, Jesus. Amen.

โ›ชLetโ€™s GAHOE โ€“ Calling All Christians!

It is Pentecost Sunday, seven weeks after Easter Sunday, in 2023.  Pentecost โ€“ when the apostles received the Holy Spirit and The Church of Christ was born.

Thereโ€™s a rallying cry for every group that organizes itself by some attribute they hold in common.  Sometimes itโ€™s for political purposes, sometimes itโ€™s a sports team or an entertainment franchise.  Sometimes it is around a Person that promises to be life changing.

Christians are no different โ€“ we rally under a single banner โ€“ Christ crucified. [1 Corinthians 1:23-24] We rally under a single cry โ€“ โ€˜Letโ€™s Goโ€™.

Only spell it differentlyโ€ฆ LETโ€™S GAHOE!ย  This reminds us that we are Godโ€™s Army Here on Earth. We stand together, we live differently, and we fight uniquely.

๐Ÿ’•How Are You Shaped?

We have all heard that we are fearfully and wonderfully madeโ€ฆ we have all heard that God does not make junkโ€ฆ and weโ€™ve all heard that weโ€™re perfect, just the way we are.  BUTโ€ฆ we look around and we feel doubt. We sense that something is amiss.

Listen to your sensesโ€ฆ something is amiss…  The problem is not in what weโ€™ve heard, but in how we interpret the truth.

The truth is:

๐Ÿ‘ฃWalking in the FLESH or Walking in the SPIRIT?

Dr. David Jeremiah, in a study on Romans 8:5-8, has a lesson on how our MINDSET affects our spiritual life.  Our ‘mindset’ – this is nothing new โ€“ we call this concept our perspective, our worldview, or the lens in which we choose to filter all that we take in.

Romans 8:5-8 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to Godโ€™s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Dear Heavenly Father โ€“ reveal to us the truth in Your Word.  In a world that speaks in an abundant flow of worthless words, we are inundated with lies.  We are told to โ€˜Look here,โ€™ โ€˜Look there,โ€™ โ€˜This is the way.โ€™ All these messages promise to fulfill our emptiness, yet they fail to deliver. As we read these chapters, help us understand the truth of who You are and the promises You have for us.  Let us recognize the emptiness of the distracting voices around us. Strengthen and mold us to hear Your Truth so that we cheerfully follow You and You alone.  We pray this in the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen.
