🙏🏽 Dear Heavenly Father – This little lost sheep can never thank You enough for the overwhelming and faithful love that You are. You’ve demonstrated this by Your provision of a faithful Shepherd who saves His lost sheep… even me!!! (The largest alabaster jar of the most expensive treasure I own, would not be enough to contain my love and my gratitude to You, for the life You’ve restored.)  I draw near again in humble submission to hear what You are ready to speak to my heart today. Strengthen and encourage me; share with me more of Your wisdom, so that I may go where You lead me and honor Your name always. I pray this in the name of my most beautiful Savior, Jesus. Amen.

🙏🏽 Dear Heavenly Father – reveal to us the truth in Your Word.  In a world that speaks in an abundant flow of worthless words, we are inundated with lies.  We are told to ‘Look here,’ ‘Look there,’ ‘This is the way.’ All these messages promise to fulfill our emptiness, yet they fail to deliver. As we read these chapters, help us understand the truth of who You are and the promises You have for us.  Let us recognize the emptiness of the distracting voices around us. Strengthen and mold us to hear Your Truth so that we cheerfully follow You and You alone.  We pray this in the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen.

For You are willing to show us how Your Church grew to spread the message of salvation to all, even when surrounded by Your enemies.  Strengthen and encourage us; teach us how to walk this life as we watch the early Church following Jesus and honoring You. 🙏🏽 Dear Heavenly Father – We sit at Your feet today to hear Your Word. We are traveling back to the point in our history where the Good News of Jesus is being preached and Your Church is born. Let us receive Your truth for the gift that it is – a message of power and comfort – a message we receive with awe and wonder. I message that we humbly admit that we can barely grasp all that it contains, yet it fills the thirst of our souls.  We thank You Lord for Your Spirit and we thank You for Your servant Luke who records this time in history.  Open our hearts and our minds to graciously receive this gift. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray this. Amen.
