As you have noticed, I haven’t posted in a long time in regards to the Joyce Meyer book. I realized, after some discussion with some others that this way of doing Bible study wasn’t really working.
I didn’t want to end the study without a final post…so here it is…
This is not the end of our journey together with Christ, but just the beginning, and I look forward to discussing the Bible together again one day, in person, Lord willing.
Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Please…make sure you read the Bible EVERY DAY! Even if you are not a morning person, make sure you find even 1 Scripture verse to think about all throughout the day. Read it out loud if you can and really dwell on what the verse is saying to you personally. If you read it enough, you will memorize it too.
Don’t forget to pray and ask for the Holy Spirit daily as well, especially in regards to wisdom while reading the Scriptures and praying.
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
May dust never be on your Bible, and may you walk with God continually, as this is His desire for you. It is impossible to know God’s will, if we don’t read His Word, and have His Word at our fingertips. It is the main way God speaks to His children. It is also how we walk in victory. It is His Words and the Holy Spirit that gives us the power and grace we need for each moment of each day.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
I pray that we will turn to the Bible above any other book that was written by man. There is truth in a lot of books, and in a lot of things on the internet, but usually there is some error mixed in, because we are each speaking from what we’ve been taught, and may not necessarily be what the Bible says. Search the Bible for truth, it is our true Safeguard!
Search it for truth, asking God to reveal truth to you, as well as revealing truth about yourself and how you might be displeasing Him. I do this often!
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
If we will stand on the Scriptures, on faith, on grace, through Christ, living our lives for His glory, we will bear fruit, and we will be at peace, even if everything else in our lives is going wrong.
Over 1,700 miles away and I feel like I walk with you everyday!
I thank God for giving me such supportive and encouraging companions on this journey as both you and Roger!
My morning verses are from Matthew 15:16-20 beginning with “Are you still so dull?”
My bedtime verse: Psalm 143:8 – Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
Thank you Elisa! I feel honored to walk with others too, and am especially grateful for Roger and his wisdom throughout the years we’ve known each other!
I’m still surprised, after all these years, how many aha moments I have, which goes right along with the dull thought. Why am I so slow to get things?
And this – I love that one. I have to commit that one to memory:
Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
I just pulled my index card to write this one down. Thanks again!
What about this one:
Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
My favorite, to start my morning studies, right after the Our Father, is Psalm 119:130-135.
What heartfelt and inspiring responses to Annelie’s writing. Love to one and all.
Wanting to stay in God’s will I choose 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
