C. S. Lewis - Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.
Isaiah 55:1
COME, EVERYONE WHO IS THIRSTY
What is the Gospel?
We've heard it means 'Good News'. Then why does it take 4 books in the Bible? If there is a Gospel according to Matthew... one according to Mark... one according to Luke and one that is John's. Can't I make up my own 'Good News'? Announce to everyone... the Gospel according to Elisa?
Apparently not. I mean I could, but it wouldn't be true. As the late Dr. Tim Keller explained: "The Gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted than we ever dared hope."
It doesn't take very long in reading Scripture before you are humbled before an almighty God - our Creator. And humanity is pretty flawed... and I'm one of them. But the promises to save... the fulfillment of those promises in a way no one could make up... sparks a flame of hope so strong because we see an unconditional love that we've never experienced in our human relationships.
Oh, taste and see, that The LORD is good!
Credit Where Credit is Due
God saw that it was NOT GOOD for man to be alone.
Neither is it helpful to try to understand God, His Word, His Plan for Salvation, The Gift of His Spirit, Finding Peace in this World of Uncertainty, or What He Meant by 'The Church'... on our own.
My thoughts, my musings, my writings... are not entirely my own. They are influenced by some amazing people who have dedicated their lives to instructing others in the ways of God.
This is a list of those resources I treasure.
